It was down to the last 10 minutes of a six-hour race-car marathon that got off to a rainy start last Saturday in Belgium.
Frankie Montecalvo was making his FIA World Endurance Championship debut at Spa-Francorchamps, competing against the world’s best drivers. Utah-based teammate Gunnar Jeannette was driving the course for the first time in about a decade.
In the last few laps of his second stint aboard the No. 58 Luxury Racing Ferrari 458 Italia, Jeannette closed a 10-second gap with a fourth-position Corvette, but two yellow caution flags prevented him from passing the car.
